Cut the strip crosswise to the selvedge, where the stretch runs, then fold it lengthwise along the crease. Rule of thumb: neckbands about two thirds to three quarters of the neckline, sleeve or hem bands slightly shorter than the circumference.
What is fine rib ribbing used for?
Fine rib ribbing gives sleeves, hems plus necklines a tidy finish. The elastic rib springs back after stretching, so edges on hoodies, sweat jackets or joggers sit firmly without pinching, keeping their shape through many washes.
How elastic is this ribbing containing 5 % elastane?
A share of 5 % elastane gives the fine rib structure extra recovery: the ribbing stretches widely, then springs back into shape. Sleeve or neck edges therefore never bag out, even on children's clothing that gets pulled on every day.
How should I wash plus care for this fabric?
Wash the ribbing at 30 degrees inside out on a gentle cycle, without bleach, skipping the tumble dryer, then iron at low temperature without pulling. Pre-wash ribbing together alongside your main fabric before cutting, so both react identically.
