Terracotta has accompanied nearly every autumn collection recently: warm, earthy, sitting somewhere between orange, rust plus brown. As ribbing the shade delivers exactly the warmth grey November days require. At 240 gsm this fine rib holds heavily used edges in shape while still adding no bulk at sleeves. Terracotta pairs happily alongside natural white, muddy beige, ochre plus dark green. Bolder sewists place it next to petrol — that contrast looks modern yet stays wearable, because both shades remain muted.

Frequently asked questions
How do I cut ribbing correctly?
Cut the strip crosswise to the selvedge, where the stretch runs, then fold it lengthwise along the crease. Rule of thumb: neckbands about two thirds to three quarters of the neckline, sleeve or hem bands slightly shorter than the circumference.
How wide is this ribbing fabric?
The fabric measures approximately 100 cm across. Several ribbing strips fit side by side, which means even a short length covers sleeves, hem plus neckline of one complete jumper without running short.
What does fine rib mean?
Fine rib describes the narrow, regular rib structure of the knit. It makes the fabric especially stretchy crosswise while creating that typical firm ribbing handle. Against coarse rib knits, fine rib looks neater, adding less bulk at necks or sleeves.
How firm is this ribbing at 240 gsm?
At 240 gsm the ribbing carries enough substance to hold edges permanently in shape, yet stays soft enough around necklines. It adds little bulk at sleeves, matching jersey plus sweat fabrics nicely in weight.
