Petrol Melange presents itself as a shifting blue tone with a fine, subtly lighter mottled structure that gives the fabric a quiet liveliness without looking busy. The colour reads as muted and easy to combine, sometimes leaning cooler blue, sometimes with a hint of green depending on the light.
At 220 gsm the jersey feels pleasantly substantial in the hand without turning stiff. It sits smoothly against the skin, feels soft, and moves easily with the body. The 5% elastane content gives a noticeable recovery that holds up even after repeated wear.
In drape the fabric shows both softness and enough body: it falls into gentle folds without sagging out of shape, and stays opaque enough to be worn as a dress or shirt without a slip underneath. The heathered character makes it a calm yet interesting choice for everyday sewing projects.
