The hardest part of putting fabrics together is the colour: cuffing that only almost matches shows immediately on the finished garment. In a bundle that matching is already done, often with a contrast fabric for sleeves or pockets included.

The sets frequently contain a panel – a pre-printed section with a finished motif – plus the matching fabric by the metre. From that combination a shirt, jumper or dress is usually made.

Before cutting, check how much fabric the bundle contains and whether it is enough for your size. The requirement is given in the sewing pattern, and with tight amounts it is worth laying out the pieces first.

What is included in a fabric bundle?

That is stated with each offer. A typical combination is a main fabric, a contrast fabric and matching cuffing, often with a panel carrying a finished motif.

Is a bundle enough for a whole garment?

Usually yes, the amounts are matched to one project. Check the fabric requirement in your pattern, as larger sizes need more than the standard amount given.

Why choose a set over individual fabrics?

Because the colour matching is already done. Cuffing in particular is difficult to match exactly – in a set the parts belong together from the start.
