The motifs are licensed, meaning released by the rights holder. That also means what you sew from them is intended for private use. Commercial resale of finished pieces is not covered.

Because the characters are usually printed large, placement is worth a thought. A face ending at a seam is immediately noticeable. Lay the pattern pieces out before cutting and shift them until the motifs sit well.

Handle the fabric like any woven cotton: pre wash, universal needle, straight stitch, finish the edges. Press the print from the reverse so the colour does not become shiny.

Good to know

May I sell items sewn from licensed fabric?

As a rule, no. The licence covers the sale of the fabric, not commercial distribution of finished products made from it. For private gifts and personal use there is no issue.

How do I calculate fabric use with large characters?

Allow at least one extra repeat. With single large motifs, measure how far the characters sit apart and determine the length from that.

Is licensed fabric suitable for bedding?

Yes, provided the quality is soft enough. Look for a woven fabric without a harsh finish and wash it before sewing so the bedding does not shrink later.
