As an all round thread it covers most sewing work. For woven fabric it is the obvious choice, and in knits it works reliably together with a stretch stitch.

Larger reels pay off for colours you use constantly – black, white and the greys run out fastest in any workroom.

Use the same thread for needle and bobbin. Mixing threads makes one side pull harder and the seam looks crooked even though the settings are right.

With repairs the colour decides the result. A shade slightly darker than the fabric disappears into the seam; a lighter one traces every irregularity.

Good to know

What is TROJA good for?

Almost all everyday sewing: clothing, cushions, curtains, bags and repairs. Only heavily stretched seams and special applications call for a different thread.

Is the large reel worthwhile?

For colours you use often, yes – above all black and white. For special shades small reels are enough, as thread turns brittle over the years.

Does the bobbin have to be the same thread?

It is considerably easier. Different threads have different thickness and tension; the seam then looks uneven even though the machine is set correctly.
