Punta di Roma is a firm double knit. It is opaque, does not curl at the cut edge and holds its shape – which makes it suitable for blazers, skirts, trousers and shift dresses, where other jerseys would be too soft.

Double knit is worked on two needle beds and is therefore smooth on both faces. The fabric is heavier than single jersey, drapes more calmly and barely creases – an advantage for clothing that should look good all day.

Because the edge does not curl, the fabric is pleasant to cut and handle. Facings and darts also lie cleanly, which is often difficult with soft knits.

Sew with a jersey needle and a stretch stitch. For blazers and skirts, a light interfacing at collar and bands keeps the edges permanently crisp.
