The trim is not stitched on top but sewn in: you place the tape between two fabric layers so that only the pompoms show. The seam disappears completely.

When placing it, make sure the pompoms face the edge evenly and do not vanish into the seam. A zipper foot helps you stitch close enough to the tape.

At corners, do not stretch the trim but fold small pleats. Pulling the tape taut leaves the pompoms unevenly spaced and the corner puckers.

How do I sew pompom trim in?

Place the tape with the pompoms facing inwards between the two fabric layers and stitch close beside the tape. After turning, the pompoms sit outside and the seam is hidden.

How do I get neatly around corners?

Fold a small pleat into the tape at the corner rather than stretching it. The spacing between pompoms stays even and the corner lies flat.

Can pompom trim be washed?

As a rule yes, gently and not too hot. With coloured pompoms, check before the first wash whether they bleed, especially onto a pale ground.
