Melange Rosa 1432 is a calm, slightly muted pink. The melange effect keeps the surface from looking flat: lighter and darker fibres sit side by side and give the shade a soft, speckled look that never turns bright or candy-like. That makes it easy to wear every day and easy to pair with other muted tones.
The handle is soft and smooth with the gentle firmness you expect from a medium-weight jersey. At 220 g/m² the fabric hangs quietly and falls into soft folds instead of standing away from the body. The 5% elastane gives clear crosswise stretch with good recovery, so cuffs, knees and necklines keep their shape.
Vanessa is Swafing's plain basic jersey: certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and 155 cm wide, which helps with larger pattern pieces.

Is this jersey opaque?
At 220 g/m² Vanessa is a medium-weight jersey and opaque enough for tops, dresses and leggings. With light shades it is still worth holding the fabric up to the light before cutting.
How much does it stretch?
With 5% elastane the jersey stretches noticeably across the width and springs back well. Lengthwise stretch is limited, so keep the direction of stretch in mind when you lay out your pattern.
Do I need to pre-wash it?
Yes, we recommend washing before cutting. Residual shrinkage is 5%, so either pre-wash or allow for it when working out how much fabric you need. Wash at 30 °C.
Does the colour match other Swafing fabrics?
Melange Rosa carries colour code 1432. The Maike (French terry) and Eike (brushed sweat) ranges run in the same colours with the same code, so a shirt and jacket stay in one tone.
