Flieder 641 is a soft lilac with a hint of grey – a light shade that reads friendly rather than sugary. It sits happily next to pale spring tones as well as grey, natural white or deep blue.
Made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane, the jersey feels smooth and cool in the hand, stays pleasantly dry against the skin and springs back after stretching. At 220 g/m² it belongs to the medium-weight qualities: firm enough to keep the colour solid so dresses don't show through, yet soft enough for bodysuits and tees worn right against the body.
The drape is calm and flowing, with no stiff edges. The fabric comes 155 cm wide and is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
What Vanessa Flieder is suitable for
- Ideal for tees, long sleeves and dresses, as 220 g/m² gives good coverage and a clean drape.
- Works for leggings and cycling shorts, because 5% elastane provides stretch and good recovery.
- Suitable for children's clothes and baby bodysuits thanks to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification and the soft cotton surface.
- Good for skirts and fuller dresses, since the 155 cm width lets you cut wider pieces from a single width.

Frequently asked questions
Is the jersey in Flieder 641 opaque?
At 220 g/m² this cotton jersey is medium-weight and covers well even in this light lilac tone. That is usually enough for dresses, tees and skirts, and the colour stays even over pale layers.
How stretchy is this fabric?
With 5% elastane the jersey stretches mainly across the width and returns to shape afterwards. That makes it suitable for close-fitting pieces such as leggings, bodysuits and fitted tees.
Do I need to prewash it?
Yes, prewashing is worth it: residual shrinkage is 5%. Wash at 30 °C, do not bleach, do not tumble dry and press with a low iron setting only.
Will the colour match other fabrics with code 641?
Yes, Flieder 641 is colour-matched within the Swafing range. Fabrics carrying the same colour code hit the same tone, so top, cuffs and jacket come together without any colour shift.
