At 220 gsm this cotton jersey sits in the medium-weight group: firm enough to stay opaque even in a strong red, yet still soft to the touch. The 5% elastane gives the fabric recovery, with noticeably more stretch across the width than along the length. It drapes softly with a slight flow and falls into rounded rather than sharp folds instead of clinging to the body.

At 220 gsm Vanessa is a medium-weight jersey and Red 636 is opaque enough for dresses and tops. Only over very light layers or in strong backlight might a second layer be worth considering.
How much does the fabric shrink?
Residual shrinkage is 5 percent, so wash the fabric once before cutting. That way the finished garment keeps its measurements and the seams will not pull out of shape after the first wash.
How do I care for this jersey?
Machine wash at 30 °C, iron on setting 1, do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Following this keeps the Red 636 shade and the recovery of the 5% elastane intact over time.
How stretchy is the fabric?
With 95% cotton and 5% elastane the jersey stretches in both directions, clearly more across the width than along the length. For leggings and close-fitting pieces, run the crosswise stretch around the body.
