Description

Salmon is no cool pink but carries a clear orange share. On natural shades it reads especially friendly.

Satin ribbon at 6 mm wide in 100 % polyester, by the metre from 0.2 metres. For fine work this width is right: neck bows on children's clothes, tags on gifts, edges on cards. For large bows meant to hold their shape, reach for something wider. No washing, no ironing, no bleach, no drying. Roll leftovers so no creases remain. Because polyester gives hardly at all, the length you measured survives tying, and your loop will not sag.

What Satinband 6mm Lachs is suitable for

  • Bouquets, because this ribbon fits around stems.
  • Advent calendars, because many small lengths are needed.
  • Pairings with kraft paper, because that contrast stays calm.

Care instructions:

Frequently asked questions

Can I write on this ribbon?

A permanent marker or textile pen works, though ink bleeds slightly on smooth satin. Test it on a short piece and let your writing dry thoroughly before handling the ribbon.

How do I thread it through a casing?

Fix a safety pin or a bodkin to one end and push it through bit by bit. At 6 mm your casing is usually wide enough that the ribbon will not twist on the way.

Does it shift while sewing?

On smooth satin a presser foot slips easily. Sew slowly, keep slight tension on the ribbon and stitch both edges in the same direction — otherwise your second seam travels against the first.

Does a knot hold in such narrow ribbon?

Satin slips, so a simple knot tends to loosen. Pull it tight, leave the ends long enough, and add a drop of fabric glue inside if needed — then it stays where you put it.
