As the patterns come from different sources, the structure and depth of the instructions vary. Read them through once before cutting so you know which steps lie ahead.

Check the details on sizes and fabric type particularly carefully. Both are stated with the article and decide whether the pattern suits your plan and the fabric you have chosen.

With single items it is worth looking at availability: once a pattern is sold out it usually cannot be reordered. If you are planning with it, get it in good time.

How do these patterns differ from the labels?

Mainly in origin and presentation. In content they are complete sewing patterns, they simply belong to no continuous range and therefore follow no uniform instruction format.

Which details should I check before buying?

The size range and the recommended fabric type. Both are given with the article. A pattern for knits needs stretchy fabric, one for wovens manages without stretch.

Are booklets with several patterns included?

Some of them, yes. In such booklets the patterns are usually supplied on a sheet for tracing. Check which designs and sizes are included before buying.
