We stock sewing patterns in two forms. Paper patterns arrive printed and ready to use, so you can trace or cut straight away. Ebooks are downloaded and printed by you, either at home on single sheets or as a large format file at a copy shop.
This section is sorted by designer. Kullaloo stands for soft toys and stuffed animals, Lillesol & Pelle and pattydoo for clothing from children to adults, Fadenkäfer and Blaubeerstern for jackets, coats and everyday wear, AnniNanni and Four Chapter for bags and accessories. The category Sonstige collects single patterns and booklets that belong to none of these labels.
Always check which fabric type a pattern asks for. A design made for stretchy knit fabric fits very differently in a firm woven cloth, simply because the stretch needed for getting dressed is missing. That information is given with every pattern, and the matching fabric, cuffing and haberdashery are right next door.

What is the difference between a paper pattern and an ebook?
A paper pattern is delivered printed and can be used immediately. An ebook is a PDF file that you print yourself: you either tape the sheets together or have the file plotted at full size in a copy shop. The content is identical, only the format differs.
Are these patterns suitable for beginners?
Yes, many patterns are written for beginners and come with few pieces and illustrated instructions. Start with straight seams and no zip, for example a simple shirt, trousers with an elastic waistband or a drawstring bag.
How do I know how much fabric to buy?
The fabric requirement is printed in the pattern, usually listed by size and fabric width. Add a little extra when you use a fabric with a one way design or with checks, because you have to match the repeat while cutting.
Do I have to enlarge the pattern before sewing?
No, all patterns are supplied at original size. When printing an ebook yourself, simply switch off any scaling in the print dialogue. Every sheet carries a control square that you can measure after printing to confirm the scale is correct.
Which size should I sew?
Take your measurements and follow the size chart of the pattern rather than your usual ready to wear size. For tops the chest measurement matters most, for trousers the hips. If you fall between two sizes, choose the smaller one in stretchy fabrics.
