Tender Touch goes onto the reverse of the design after stitching. The soft knitted material covers the scratchy stitches without changing how the fabric drapes. At 53 g/m² it barely adds any bulk.

The reverse of an embroidery carries colour changes, jump stitches and knots. On a cushion nobody notices, in a t-shirt they do: that surface rubs against the skin, and on children's clothing it quickly becomes the reason a garment stays in the drawer.

Tender Touch lays a soft layer over it. Because it is a knitted material rather than a firm film, the fabric stays mobile and drapes as before. Iron it on after stitching, with moderate heat and no steam.

The order matters: stitch first, cover afterwards. Fusing it beforehand puts it under the needle as an extra layer — it then works as support, but no longer covers anything.

When do I iron it on?

After stitching, never before. It is meant to cover the finished reverse; used as a backing while stitching it would add support but miss exactly the job it was made for.

Which iron setting should I use?

Moderate heat and no steam. Too hot and the coating melts through, too damp and it lifts in the first wash. A pressing cloth in between protects both fabric and soleplate.

Does it survive washing?

Yes, when fused properly. If a corner lifts after a wash, the heat was usually too low or the time too short — simply press the spot again.
