A warm, earthy red-brown with quiet depth. It ties beige, mustard and olive together and turns an autumn palette into something whole.
This cord is braided round, and at 6 mm it is sturdy enough to sit properly in a hood or waistband instead of twisting. Pure cotton means it feels soft rather than plasticky, yet a cut end barely frays. Wash at 30 degrees; keep it out of your tumble dryer. You buy from 0.5 metres, so you cut exactly what your project needs.
What Kordel rund 6 mm Terracotta is suitable for
- Autumn sweat jackets, because terracotta sets the tone beside mustard and olive.
- Hoods on clothes in natural shades, because this red-brown brings warmth in.
- Fabric bags and bread bags, because earthy colours swallow marks of use.
Frequently asked questions
Will the colour bleed in a wash?
Dyed cotton can release a little colour in its first wash. So wash your cord on its own first, or with similar shades; after that it stays colourfast and can join a mixed load.
Will the ends fray?
Barely, as it is tightly braided round. For ends that stay tidy, knot them, fit a cord end cap, or bind them by wrapping thread. Melting will not work on pure cotton.
Does this cord shrink in a wash?
Cotton pulls together slightly in a first wash. So wash your cord together with your fabric before threading it, then that length still fits after your first laundry round.
What is the best way to thread this cord?
Tape your end flat or tie a knot, then guide it through your channel using a safety pin. At 6 mm your channel wants to be at least one centimetre wide, otherwise it will snag.
