BSN stands for pressing instead of sewing, and that is exactly what this film does: after stitching it goes onto the reverse of an emblem, is pressed on and holds the piece on the fabric for good. Edges and rims no longer lift. The roll is 25 cm wide and 5 m long.
Beyond patches it also builds textile collages and bonds hems instead of sewing them. It suits a cutting plotter as well, since it cuts cleanly. Like every Sulky stabiliser it is Oeko-Tex certified and vegan.

How do I press the film on?
Lay it on the reverse of your finished emblem and press with moderate heat and pressure. A cloth between keeps adhesive off the sole plate. Let it cool briefly before moving the piece, since the bond does not hold while warm.
Does the bond last?
Yes, it is built to be permanent and survives ordinary washing. If a corner lifts, there was too little heat or pressure while pressing. On heavily stressed spots an additional row of stitching still makes sense.
Can I cut the film in a plotter?
Yes, it cuts cleanly and therefore suits plotted designs too. The cut edge stays closed, so the design can be pressed onto fabric afterwards without any further work.
How does BSN differ from a fusible web?
A fusible web joins two layers of fabric, while BSN seals the back of a finished emblem and bonds it on. For patches BSN is the more direct route; for fabric appliqué the web is.
