About this range

Raised embroidery comes not from more thread but from height beneath the thread. Foam delivers exactly that height: it lies under the design, and dense satin stitches settle over it like a skin over a curve.

At 3 mm, Puffy is enough for strong effects on lettering, outlines and logos. What matters is that the design file is drawn for it: it needs denser stitches and a border that cuts the foam cleanly. Otherwise white edges stay visible.

You work from sheets rather than a roll — place a piece only under the area meant to stand out. Choose the colour to match the thread, so nothing alien flashes at the edges.

Frequently asked questions

Does the design file need to be special?

Yes. A file for 3D effects works with denser satin stitches and a border that severs the foam at the edge. An ordinary file leaves rims standing which can no longer be removed cleanly.

Which colour should I pick?

The one closest to the thread. A little foam always shows at the edges; with a matching colour nobody notices, while white foam under dark thread is obvious at once.

What suits this effect?

Lettering, logos and bold outlines, as known from caps and sportswear. It is unsuited to fine detail and solid designs, because the height swallows the drawing there.
