At 50 g/m², Tear Away Plus sits between the light Tear Easy and the cut-away stabilisers. It holds designs with many stitches in shape and tears away cleanly afterwards. Available in white and black, in two widths.

The denser a design, the more pull builds up in the fabric. A light stabiliser reaches its limit there: the cloth ripples and the outline drifts out of register. At 50 g/m², Tear Away Plus brings enough substance to absorb that.

You work with it like any tear-away: place it under the fabric and hoop both together. After stitching, tear it away around the design. Where the stitch count is very high, use two or three layers and remove them one at a time.

Pick the colour to match the fabric: white under light material, black under dark. The stabiliser is removed later, but while it lies under the embroidery a pale edge can show through at the border.

Good to know

When do I choose Tear Away Plus over Tear Easy?

As soon as the design puts many stitches into a small area, or the fabric is firmer. Tear Easy is made for fine goods; under dense fill stitches it gives way too quickly and the design distorts.

Which width should I pick?

The width follows your hoop. A roll slightly wider than your largest hoop can be cut without piecing, which saves waste and spares you a join right under the design.

Can I reuse offcuts?

Yes, as long as the piece still fits the hoop. Smaller offcuts work as a second layer under particularly dense areas, where they only need to add support in one spot.
