Description

Khaki here is a deep, olive-tinged green. The sheen on its wide ribs makes it look almost velvety and pairs well with mustard, rust and natural shades.

For an upholstery weight, Plön is unusually supple. Its chenille ribs are broad and high, and its pile feels silky with a subtle sheen. 420 g/m² of 100 % polyester makes the cloth stable and abrasion resistant, forgiving of children’s hands, pets and daily use. Its 140 cm of width suits seat cushions and covers.

Nicely combined with firmer decor fabrics or patterned cotton as a back.

Frequently asked questions

Does the fabric shed when cut?

Yes, the generous pile releases loose fibres when cut. After cutting, vacuum the edges briefly or use a lint roller. Finish the edges straight away and things stay clean.

How do I sew wide-wale corduroy?

With a sturdy universal needle and a slightly longer stitch. A walking foot stops the layers from creeping over the pile. Cut all pieces with the same nap direction, otherwise they shimmer differently.

How do I care for Plön?

Wash at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle, do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Dry flat, then lift the pile by hand or with a soft brush. Iron only on a low setting from the reverse.

Is it suitable for upholstery?

Yes, the cloth is highly abrasion resistant and copes well with frequent use. For seat cushions a firm underlayer is still recommended so the cover keeps its shape.
