Fantasy prints are usually colourful and full of contrast. That makes combining easier than it first appears: almost any colour from the motif works as cuffing or companion fabric.

With large single figures it pays to lay the pattern piece out before cutting. A unicorn ending exactly at the shoulder seam looks restless later – a few centimetres of shift solves the problem.

Handle the fabric like any cotton jersey: pre wash, jersey needle, stretch stitch, press from the reverse. Colourful prints should be washed cool and inside out so the colours stay strong.

How do I combine colourful fantasy fabrics?

Pick a single colour from the print, ideally a mid tone. A second bold pattern beside it quickly becomes too much; a calm solid lets the motif work.

Are glitter prints washable?

As a rule yes, but gently. Wash cool, inside out and without a tumble dryer. Friction and heat are what damage glitter particles most.

How large can a single motif be?

Large enough to fit entirely on the front piece without being cut off at side seams or armholes. Measure the pattern piece and compare it with the motif.
