About this range

  • Beim Zuschnitt fallen viele Haare an.

The longer the pile, the more a plush looks like real fur. Long-pile plush falls loosely, moves with you and makes seams almost invisible because the hair lies over them. That is why it is popular for costumes, soft toys and appliqués such as manes, beards, ears or collars.

Cutting is the most important step. Cut from the wrong side and only through the backing, ideally with the tip of your scissors or a craft knife. That keeps the hair intact. When sewing, brush the hair at the edge inwards and pull it out of the seam with a pin afterwards.

Allow some time for tidying up: loose hair comes away when cutting. A vacuum cleaner within reach and a brushed-out bobbin area keep your workspace and machine clean.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cut long-pile plush without shortening the hair?

Cut from the wrong side and only through the backing, using the tip of your scissors or a craft knife in small steps. The hair on the right side stays intact and later covers the seam.

What is long-pile plush good for?

For costumes, soft toys and cushions, and for anything that should look like fur, such as manes, beards, ears or collars. It is less suited to everyday clothes that are washed often.

How do I get the hair out of the seam?

Brush the hair at the edge inwards before sewing. After sewing, gently pull any trapped hair out on the right side with a pin, and the seam will hardly show.
