Solvy is thin, transparent and fully water-soluble. What remains after rinsing is the embroidery alone. One roll of 10 m, 25 cm wide — you cut it to hoop size. This version comes in Transparent.
Since nothing remains, the water-soluble option is the choice for work visible from both sides. Hooping follows the usual rule: taut, but without pull. Water-soluble material tears more readily than a stabiliser. If you embroider regularly, keeping one of the common sizes in stock pays off. Before the first design on a new fabric, a test piece with the same material pays off.

How do I rinse it out?
Tear off the bulk first, then rinse the design in lukewarm water, working it gently between your fingers. It is done when nothing feels stiff any more.
How do I store it?
Dry and airtight where possible. Humidity turns water-soluble material soft and tacky, and then it can hardly be hooped cleanly. A resealable bag is entirely enough for that.
Does anything stay in the fabric?
No, provided you rinsed thoroughly. A slightly stiff handle straight after drying disappears at the latest when the finished piece is first washed. To be completely sure, rinse a second time in clear water.
How do I dry the design?
Flat and pulled into shape. Free-standing lace is best pinned out, so it dries in the shape it is meant to keep. In a tumble dryer, by contrast, lace loses its shape.
