Lace works through what it leaves open. This one is Lingerie Lace, 20 mm wide, made from 88 % polyamide plus 12 % elastane.
Stitch it using low thread tension plus a fine needle, so its mesh never draws together. A sheet of tissue paper beneath keeps that surface calm, tearing away carefully once finished.
Wash it gently inside a mesh bag, drying flat afterwards. Tumble drying shrinks fine lace, costing exactly that shape which makes it interesting.
Wanting merely a hint of edging, lay this lace half overlapping rather than flush — its transition then stays soft, while your seam disappears inside that pattern.
What Wäschespitze elastisch Breite 20 mm Taubengrau is suitable for
- Lingerie plus nightwear, because lace rests lightly against skin.
- Cuff alongside hem finishes meant to fade out delicately.
- Cushions, curtains plus decoration, where an open border carries.
Frequently asked questions
How do I attach lace without rippling?
Using low thread tension plus a fine needle, so its mesh never draws together. A sheet of tissue paper beneath keeps that surface calm, tearing away carefully afterwards while its seam stays untouched.
Does lace fray once cut?
Woven lace frays, while bobbin plus guipure qualities mostly hold. Wanting certainty, finish that edge using a narrow zigzag, or fold it over, stitching it down — barely visible once everything sits finished.
How should lace be washed?
On a gentle cycle at low temperature, ideally inside a mesh bag, so its openwork never catches. Dry it flat; tumble drying shrinks fine lace, costing its shape permanently.
What suits this lace?
Lingerie, nightwear plus anything resting against skin, alongside decoration over cuffs, bags, cushion edges. Wanting merely a hint of edging, stitch it half overlapping rather than flush.
