A plastic ruler with a continuous scale guides the blade and steps off measurements in one pass. Made in the size 15 cm × 30 cm. Sold as a single item. The material is plastic.
Two measurements at different points reveal whether the length really lies straight — which saves unpicking later. For alterations to finished pieces the measurement shows how much width is really missing or left over. The fabric lies flat and untensioned while measuring; stretched knits otherwise measure longer than they later are.
What Prym Universal-Lineal 15 x 30 cm Omnigrid 611307 is suitable for

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure accurately?
Lay the fabric flat, do not pull, and check at two points. Knits deceive most: under tension they measure several centimetres more than they hold in the finished piece.
How do I mark an even hem?
Set dots at short intervals along the measure and join them. Measuring at only two points inevitably gives a wave on a curved hem. Finally, pin the hem and check it once more from the outside.
Is it good for patchwork?
Yes, provided the edges are true and the tool lies flat. In patchwork repeatability counts for more than a single millimetre. Always working from the same edge keeps the deviation small by itself.
How should it be stored?
Flat and with no load on top. A bent ruler pulls every cut askew, and it usually shows only when pieces refuse to match. Hung on a hook, a long ruler stays true the longest.
