Ochre stands warm and light in the room and needs no second colour beside it to work. Marled, the fabric reads less severe than plain — and marks show on it less. The fabric does not stretch. That makes it precise to cut and forgiving to sew, but the pattern has to allow for movement.

That depends on the pattern, the fabric width and the print. Large motifs demand waste, since pieces have to be placed to match. On repeat prints allow half a metre more.
Does it suit patchwork?
Yes, woven cotton is the standard material for it. It cuts precisely, does not distort while sewing and presses flat — three qualities that matter in patchwork.
Does it suit children's clothes?
For shirts, skirts, dresses and trousers yes. For t-shirts and anything close-fitting a knit is the better choice, because it moves — a woven does not.
