Cotton jersey is that knit most T-shirts come from: stretchy across its width, stable along its length. Its handle stays soft, dry; its surface smooth.
This one measures 145 cm across, weighing 200 g/m²; its composition reads 95 % cotton plus 5 % elastane. Wash it once before cutting, so its length stays stable afterwards.
White pairs readily alongside plain shades; anyone wanting contrast sets it beside something stronger. Sold by metre, so you cut whatever your project takes — leftovers still serve bags, appliqué plus small pouches.
What Baumwolljersey Panel mit Beatles Motiv auf Weiß ca. 95 cm is suitable for
- Shirts, long sleeves plus dresses, because this fabric gives across its width, then returns.
- Children's clothing, since jersey moves along while dressing, pinching nowhere.
- Pairing with matching plain cuffing whenever a neckline wants finishing.
Frequently asked questions
Which needle does this want?
A jersey or stretch needle. Its rounded point pushes stitches aside instead of piercing them — a universal needle leaves small ladders that only show after washing.
Why do cut edges curl?
Because knitted fabric sits under tension along a cut. That is normal, disappearing once an edge gets bound or hemmed. While cutting, let your fabric lie flat rather than pulling it.
Which stitch survives the stretch?
A narrow zigzag, or your machine's stretch stitch. A straight seam snaps while dressing, because it cannot follow. An overlocker works fastest, though nothing requires one.
Should I pre-wash?
Yes, once before cutting. Knits containing cotton draw up slightly during their first wash, which should happen while your fabric remains yardage rather than a finished garment.
