About this range
Plön ist ein Plüsch-Breitcord von Swafing: breite, weiche Rippen aus kurzem Plüschflor auf einem festen Grund. Mit 420 g/m² und 140 cm Breite ist er schwer genug für Jacken, Hosen und Röcke mit Stand und kräftig genug für Kissen, Hocker und kleine Polsterarbeiten.
Sewing tips
- Die Rippen haben eine Strichrichtung. Alle Teile gleich herum zuschneiden, sonst glänzen sie unterschiedlich.
- Rippen längs zum Fadenlauf legen und auf Vorder- und Rückenteil auf gleicher Höhe ausrichten.
- Jeans- oder Universalnadel 90 bis 100, Stichlänge 3, am besten mit Obertransportfuß.
- Nahtzugaben schmal zurückschneiden und auseinanderbügeln, dann trägt die Naht weniger auf.
- Nur von links und mit wenig Hitze bügeln, ein Tuch oder ein Stück Restcord dazwischen schützt den Flor.
- Bei 30 Grad waschen, nicht bleichen, nicht in den Trockner.
Plön combines two fabrics: the structure of a wide-wale cord and the softness of plush. The ribs are broad and made of short pile that feels velvety. The firm base gives the fabric weight, so jackets, trousers and skirts keep their shape.
Because Plön is sturdy, it also suits home textiles that need to take some wear: cushions, footstool covers, seat pads and bags. The ribs set a calm line that you can use deliberately, for example running vertically across the front of a cushion.
Like any cord, Plön has a pile direction. Cut all pieces the same way round and line the ribs up at the same height on front and back. Press only from the wrong side and with low heat.
