Description
French terry is the fabric for hoodies, sweat jackets and children's clothes worn all year round. At 265 g/m² and 145 cm wide the fabric suits the usual paper patterns. It is made from 60 % cotton, 5 % elastane and 35 % modal.
With Dusty Pink/Black you get a warm tone that stays fresh through many washes. An animal print is a pattern with recognition value: it carries a piece on its own, with no further design. The brushed inside sheds at cut edges; finishing them is therefore not an optional step.
What Modal French Terry Animal Print Altrosa/Schwarz by Swafing is suitable for
- zip-up sweat jackets
- children's clothes for autumn and winter
- blankets and cushions
Care instructions:
Frequently asked questions
May sweat go in the dryer?
If the care label allows it. Brushed goods turn softer in a dryer but shrink more. If you plan to tumble dry, do it once before cutting.
Is sweat only a winter fabric?
No. The lighter unbrushed version wears all year — over a shirt on summer evenings, under a jacket in winter. Only the brushed inside makes it a pure winter fabric.
Do I have to pre-wash?
Yes, especially with brushed goods. Sweat shrinks more than jersey, and on a finished hoodie that cannot be corrected. Wash it the way the piece will be washed later.
Why does the inside shed?
Because fibres lie loose at the cut edge. That settles after finishing and the first washes. If you want none of it, finish the edges straight after cutting.
