Modal makes this cloth softer and cooler against skin than pure cotton, giving it a slight sheen. Together with elastane it drapes more fluidly without losing its shape.
Do I need to match the repeat?
This pattern repeats evenly and has no visible top or bottom. So you can place your pattern pieces freely and save fabric, because nothing needs lining up with repeats.
Which needle, which stitch?
A jersey needle and a stretch stitch will do; an overlocker is nice but never required. Sew without pulling your fabric, or seams will ripple once the garment lies flat again.
Can I iron this fabric?
No, it takes no direct heat. Use steam from a distance, or hang your garment in a damp bathroom. If you must press, work from the back only with a cloth in between.
