Description
A striped label with a sitting cat and lettering, styled like a maker label. The patch shows a cat with a hand made label and is applied with an iron. An adhesive layer on the back softens under heat and bonds with the fabric. That is enough for clothing worn and washed in the usual way. Use it on handmade pieces of every kind — as decoration as much as to cover a small damaged spot. If you want to be certain, stitch around the edge with small stitches once it has cooled.
What Iron-on Patch a cat with a hand made label is suitable for
- Decorating shirts and jackets
- Covering small damaged spots
- Bags, rucksacks and pouches
- Cushions and fabric decoration
Frequently asked questions
How do I iron the patch on?
Press the fabric smooth first, lay the patch in place, cover it with a thin cotton cloth and press firmly at medium heat without steam. Let it cool before checking that it has stuck all over.
Will it survive the washing machine?
With normal household washing, usually yes. Wash the item inside out and skip the tumble dryer, then the adhesive will not start lifting at the edges too early.
Can I sew it on instead?
Yes, and on stretchy fabric that is the better answer. Stitch around the edge with small stitches or a close zigzag, then the patch holds where the fabric moves as well.
Which fabrics will it not stick to?
Heavily coated or very smooth surfaces give the adhesive nothing to hold on to. Fabrics that cannot take heat are out as well, so there only sewing remains an option.
