Filmoplast lets you embroider pieces that will not fit a hoop: collars, cuffs, caps, pockets, socks. The web measures 25 cm across; the roll holds 5 m. 50 g/m² — the figure that tells you how much stability to expect.
At high stitch density you lay two or three layers and pull them off one at a time afterwards. The roll is best stored flat or upright, dry and without creases. Creased stabiliser tensions unevenly in the hoop. Store it dry, flat and without creases.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How many layers do I need?
That depends on stitch density. A light design needs one layer, dense areas two or three. Several thin layers hold better than one thick one, because they come off separately.
White or black?
White under pale fabrics, black under dark ones. At the edges of a design the stabiliser always shows a little, and a white line under dark cloth catches the eye at once.
Does anything remain after washing?
No, provided you tore it off cleanly. Small remnants under dense stitching usually drop out in the first wash. Anything that will not come loose was stitched in too firmly.
Can I use it for sewing too?
Yes. Under fine or slippery fabrics it stops the feed dogs pulling the cloth into the needle plate. After the seam it tears away just as it does after embroidery.
