Filmoplast lets you embroider pieces that will not fit a hoop: collars, cuffs, caps, pockets, socks. At 50 cm wide and 5 m on the roll there is material for several projects. 50 g/m² — the figure that tells you how much stability to expect.
On stretch fabrics a tear-away alone is often not enough — there a cut-away belongs underneath. Stabilisers are consumables, but not interchangeable: too light and the design wanders, too heavy and the spot turns stiff. The right weight saves more trouble than any repair.

Sewing tips
- Das Vlies mit der Papierseite nach oben einspannen und das Papier einritzen.

Frequently asked questions
Hoop it or just lay it underneath?
On wovens either works, hooping is safer. As soon as your fabric gives, the stabiliser has to go into the hoop too, otherwise the layer shifts while you stitch.
Can I use it for sewing too?
Yes. Under fine or slippery fabrics it stops the feed dogs pulling the cloth into the needle plate. After the seam it tears away just as it does after embroidery.
How do I store the roll?
Dry, without creases and away from dust. Creased stabiliser tensions unevenly in the hoop, and dust on the surface carries lint into your machine. Opened rolls are best kept in their original packaging.
How do I recognise the right weight?
From your fabric and design: the thinner the fabric and the denser the stitching, the more hold is needed. When unsure, add a layer of the light one rather than reaching for a heavy web.
