Not every fabric survives a hoop. Filmoplast solves that by hooping the stabiliser instead — your fabric merely sticks to it. 5 m on the roll, 25 cm wide. For small hoops you cut it down accordingly. At 50 g/m² it stays thin enough for the needle to pass easily.
On wovens this is the simplest answer: hold while stitching, and afterwards nothing of it shows. Before the first design on a new fabric a test piece with the same stabiliser pays off. It costs ten minutes and answers more questions than any table.

- Das Vlies mit der Papierseite nach oben einspannen und das Papier einritzen.

Frequently asked questions
Does tear-away suit jersey?
Only partly. Stretch fabrics need lasting support, which a tear-away no longer gives once removed. There a cut-away stabiliser that stays in the piece is the right choice.
Hoop it or just lay it underneath?
On wovens either works, hooping is safer. As soon as your fabric gives, the stabiliser has to go into the hoop too, otherwise the layer shifts while you stitch.
Do I need spray adhesive with it?
Not necessarily. It helps with small pieces that cannot be hooped and with slippery fabrics. Spray sparingly onto the stabiliser rather than the fabric, or your needle turns sticky.
How do I store the roll?
Dry, without creases and away from dust. Creased stabiliser tensions unevenly in the hoop, and dust on the surface carries lint into your machine. Opened rolls are best kept in their original packaging.
