Ultra Stable is pressed on permanently and stays in the piece. So it holds a design not only while stitching but for good. 5 m on the roll, 25 cm wide. For small hoops you cut it down accordingly. At 115 g/m² it stays thin enough for the needle to pass easily.
On knits this is the right choice: it holds the stitches permanently so the design does not sag over time. Before the first design on a new fabric a test piece with the same stabiliser pays off — including a wash test if the piece will go into the machine often.

- Dauerhaft aufbügeln, dann besticken.
- Nach dem Sticken rund um das Motiv abschneiden.

Frequently asked questions
Does it scratch against skin?
The soft qualities do not. With heavy stabilisers and direct skin contact you add a backing on the reverse, which covers the stitches and keeps the handle soft.
Does it have to go into the hoop?
On knits absolutely. Laying it underneath is not enough, because the fabric then shifts against it and the design ends up distorted. On especially stretchy stock a spray adhesive that holds stabiliser to fabric helps as well.
When do I need two layers?
On very dense designs and on work without a base fabric. Two light layers beat one heavy one there, because the fabric over them drapes more naturally.
How does it differ from a tear-away?
A tear-away is removed after stitching, a cut-away stays in the piece. That makes it the choice for anything that stretches or faces many washes.
