Description

A marking pen draws fine lines on fabric that can be removed again later. Sold as a single item. The finish is Turquoise.

Darts, pocket positions and plackets want marking before the machine runs — afterwards it is only guesswork. Markings stay visible as long as they are needed and then go with water, an iron or a brush. What has been marked should be sewn before long; if the cut pieces lie around for weeks, some lines fade by themselves. Anyone sewing regularly likes to keep such notions in duplicate. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.

What Prym Aquatrick' marking pen in Turquoise is suitable for

  • Marking darts and seam lines
  • Transferring patterns onto fabric
  • Drawing quilting lines and grids

Frequently asked questions

Does the marking come off again?

Depending on the type with water, with heat or by brushing out. The pack says which applies; a test on a hidden spot shows it within a minute on your own fabric.

How long does a line stay visible?

Long enough for cutting and sewing, but not forever. If cut pieces lie around for weeks, redraw shortly before sewing. Light and warmth speed up fading, so keep pieces away from the window.

How should pens be stored?

Lying flat, capped and out of the sun. Pens left open dry out, and a dried tip draws streaks instead of lines. A pen that no longer draws can sometimes be revived on paper.

How fine should the line be?

As fine as possible: a broad line leaves open where exactly to sew. Darts and notches deserve the fine tip, cutting lines manage with the broad one.
