Description
A marking pen draws fine lines on fabric that can be removed again later. It measures Ø 0.9 mm. The pack holds 18 pieces. Supplied in Multicolour.
Darts, pocket positions and plackets want marking before the machine runs — afterwards it is only guesswork. Light cloth calls for a dark marking, dark cloth for a light one — which is why most sewing boxes hold two colours side by side. Markings stay visible as long as they are needed and then go with water, an iron or a brush. The pack states the size, so buying more later stays easy.
What Prym marking pen in Multicolour is suitable for
- Marking darts and seam lines
- Transferring patterns onto fabric
- Drawing quilting lines and grids
Frequently asked questions
Does the marking come off again?
Depending on the type with water, with heat or by brushing out. The pack says which applies; a test on a hidden spot shows it within a minute on your own fabric.
How long does a line stay visible?
Long enough for cutting and sewing, but not forever. If cut pieces lie around for weeks, redraw shortly before sewing. Light and warmth speed up fading, so keep pieces away from the window.
May I iron over a marking?
Better not while it is still needed: heat can fix some lines and erase others at once. Sew first, press afterwards is the safe order.
How fine should the line be?
As fine as possible: a broad line leaves open where exactly to sew. Darts and notches deserve the fine tip, cutting lines manage with the broad one.
