Description
Tracing a pattern keeps it in every size and ready to use again at any time. The size comes to 10 m × 1 m. Inside the pack are 10 m. Made from paper.
For alterations to finished clothes a line on the fabric shows where to shorten and where to let out. Before the first stroke, test on a hidden spot: every fabric takes markings differently. What has been marked should be sewn before long; if the cut pieces lie around for weeks, some lines fade by themselves. Prym has made sewing notions in Stolberg for generations.
What Prym pattern-making aid 1m x 10m in White is suitable for
- Transferring patterns onto fabric
- Drawing quilting lines and grids
- Alterations to finished clothing
Frequently asked questions
Which fabrics does it suit?
Most wovens and knits. On very absorbent or coated goods every marking behaves differently, so a test on a scrap stays the safest route. On velvet and towelling it is better to mark on the reverse.
How long does a line stay visible?
Long enough for cutting and sewing, but not forever. If cut pieces lie around for weeks, redraw shortly before sewing. Light and warmth speed up fading, so keep pieces away from the window.
May I iron over a marking?
Better not while it is still needed: heat can fix some lines and erase others at once. Sew first, press afterwards is the safe order.
How fine should the line be?
As fine as possible: a broad line leaves open where exactly to sew. Darts and notches deserve the fine tip, cutting lines manage with the broad one.
