A plastic ruler with a continuous scale guides the blade and steps off measurements in one pass. The stated size is 20 cm × 10 cm. Sold as a single item. The material is 100 % resin.
A measuring tool belongs stored flat; once bent, its edge is no longer true. In patchwork small inaccuracies add up across many pieces — which is why it pays to measure once more there. Marking the seam allowance at the same time removes guesswork at the machine and hits the edge reliably. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure accurately?
Lay the fabric flat, do not pull, and check at two points. Knits deceive most: under tension they measure several centimetres more than they hold in the finished piece.
How do I mark an even hem?
Set dots at short intervals along the measure and join them. Measuring at only two points inevitably gives a wave on a curved hem. Finally, pin the hem and check it once more from the outside.
What if it slips?
Small silicone stoppers underneath hold the tool in place. Otherwise it already helps to lay the second hand flat instead of using fingertips. A sheet of sandpaper under the ruler also holds it surprisingly well.
Do I add the seam allowance?
Only if the pattern does not include it. Many patterns already do; a look at the instructions settles it faster than any sum on the fabric.
