Not everything can be hooped. Collars, pockets, small appliqué and stretchy knitwear distort in a hoop or will not fit one at all. KK 100 fixes such pieces temporarily onto the stabiliser, so nothing slips while you stitch and no stitches are pulled out of shape. The can holds 500 ml.
Spray sparingly and onto the stabiliser rather than the fabric — then nothing sticks to your needle. The adhesive is transparent, acid-free and non-toxic, almost odourless and temporary: once the work is done the piece lifts away without traces. Do note that the spray is flammable.
What KK 100 Economy Sprühzeitkleber von Gunold, Dose 500 ml is suitable for
- fixing stretch fabrics and knitwear
- holding appliqué while stitching
- fixing small cut pieces without pressure marks
Frequently asked questions
Where do I spray the adhesive?
Onto the stabiliser rather than the fabric. Work sparingly and from a distance, then the surface stays even and nothing gathers on your needle. Sprayed too close it leaves marks that are hard to remove.
Does it leave residue in the fabric?
Not when used sparingly. The adhesive is built for temporary fixing and releases once the work is done. Spray too generously and you get tacky spots on the needle and the needle plate instead.
What do I need spray adhesive for at all?
For anything that cannot be hooped or would distort in a hoop: collars, cuffs, pockets, appliqué and stretchy knitwear. It replaces basting and works without leaving pressure marks.
What should I watch for in storage?
The spray is flammable and therefore does not belong near sources of heat. Before use the can should stand at room temperature for a day, otherwise it sprays unevenly.
