Description
Outdoor fabric is coated and keeps water out — meant for bags, covers and anything that goes outside. 145 cm wide, 210 g/m² — figures that tell you how heavily the fabric falls. Material: 100 % polyester.
The tone Brown/Lilac belongs to the earth colours and suits green, beige and rust without a second thought. To sew waterproof you have to seal the seams too; the needle makes holes the fabric cannot close. Before cutting, a look at the care symbols on the article pays off.
What Outdoorstoff Happy Collection Dackel braun/flieder by Swafing von Cherry Picking is suitable for

Frequently asked questions
What do I do with offcuts?
Wet bags, bag bases, rain covers and sit mats. Coated offcuts are too valuable to discard, because they do exactly what ordinary cotton cannot. A piece the size of a postcard already covers a bag base.
Can I pin it?
Only in the seam allowance. Coated goods keep every hole, and a seam cannot be unpicked without traces. Clips are the better choice, since they pierce nothing.
The fabric sticks to the presser foot — what helps?
A Teflon foot or a walking foot. Alternatively a strip of tissue paper between foot and fabric, torn away after the seam. A sheet of baking paper under the fabric also helps when no special foot is at hand.
How do I reinforce the seam?
On bags with a flat-felled seam or a second row of topstitching. That not only holds better, it also makes the seam flatter — and flatness is half the battle on thick fabrics.
