Summer sweat, often called French terry, carries a smooth face outside plus small loops inside — warming without bulk. Its handle stays soft, while this fabric stretches across its width.
This one measures 145 cm across, weighing 230 g/m²; its composition reads 95 % cotton plus 5 % elastane. Wash it once before cutting, so its length stays stable afterwards.
Light blue pairs readily alongside plain shades; anyone wanting contrast sets it beside something stronger. Sold by metre, so you cut whatever your project takes — leftovers still serve bags, appliqué plus small pouches.
What French Terry Druck Jan Elefant is suitable for
- Hoodies, sweat jackets plus sweat dresses across milder parts of a year.
- Kids' trousers or joggers, because that looped face sits pleasantly against skin.
- Light jackets meant to warm without adding bulk.
Frequently asked questions
Which needle plus stitch?
A jersey needle alongside a narrow zigzag, or your stretch stitch. Sweat stretches across its width, which a straight seam never survives long — especially along cuffs plus sleeve hems.
Should I pre-wash?
Yes, once before cutting. Sweat fabrics containing cotton draw up during their first wash; afterwards length stays stable, so a finished garment keeps fitting through every wash that follows.
Which cuffing suits it?
Cuffing in a matching shade or a contrast, cut to roughly eighty percent of your edge. If unsure, wrap it around an arm or neck, drawing it up until it feels comfortable.
How should I press sweat fabric?
From its reverse, without pressure. Its inner face carries loops or brushing; heat plus pressure flatten those, costing this fabric exactly what you bought it for.
