Description
Fabric shears stay fabric shears — the tool most often held in the hand. It measures 22 cm. Sold as a single item. Made from stainless steel, plastic.
A clean cut decides the seam: what is cut crooked can never be sewn straight afterwards. Cutting on a base is cleaner: a mat takes the blade and spares the table at the same time. A sharp blade needs less force and runs more calmly, which spares wrist and material alike. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.
What Prym pair of scissors in Grey is suitable for
- Cutting lengths of fabric
- Patchwork and quilting
- Alterations and shortening
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a cutting mat?
With rotary cutters, yes, otherwise the blade runs into the table. The mat closes up again after each cut and lasts a long time when stored flat.
How do I cut straight?
With a ruler and a firm surface rather than freehand. The fabric lies flat and without tension; even a slight ripple under the blade pulls the cut askew.
How do I make it safe?
Store it closed or locked and out of reach of children. On a rotary cutter the guard goes back after every cut, not at the end of the day.
How do I look after it?
Wipe dry, never rinse, and keep the joint moving with a drop of fine oil now and then. Moisture is the only real enemy of a cutting edge.
