Description
For gathering and stretchy seams: the thread moves along when the fabric does. Made in the size Ø 0.5 mm × 20 m. Supplied as 20 m. The material is 50 % elastane, 50 % polyamide.
After sewing, let the seam rest before loading it — the material then settles evenly. When mending, what counts is that the thread matches the fabric and the repair bulks no more than necessary. Before the first metre, sew a test on a scrap: stitch length and tension matter more here than with a firm thread.

What stitch length should I use?
A rather long one, so the thread has room within the stitch. A test seam on a scrap answers length and tension faster than any table.
How do I wash finished pieces?
According to the main fabric, but better not too hot. Heat is what troubles elastic material most, in the water as in the dryer. In a tumble dryer, elastic material ages faster than in any hand wash.
How long does the material last?
Stored dry and dark, many years. What has lain at a window for years turns brittle and snaps when stretched — noticed only once the seam is already in place.
How much do I need?
For gathering, considerably more than the finished length, because the material works within the stitch. Counting generously avoids joining mid-seam. A part-used remnant usually still covers cuffs on children's clothes.
