Description

Because Tender Touch is a soft knitted mesh, the fabric keeps its drape — the garment does not turn stiff from it. The web measures 25 cm across; the roll holds 5 m. 53 g/m² — the figure that tells you how much stability to expect.

A pressing cloth or baking paper between iron and material stops anything sticking to the sole plate. Opened rolls are best kept flat and dry; creases in the coating show later on the fabric. Store it dry, flat and without creases.

What Sulky Tender Touch Schwarz is suitable for

  • embroidery in direct contact with skin
  • sportswear and lingerie
  • covering scratchy embroidery backs

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

What temperature do I need?

Moderate heat without steam. The exact setting depends on your fabric rather than the material, which is why a test on a scrap belongs before the good piece meets the iron.

Which side goes onto the fabric?

The coated side, usually slightly shiny or rough. Lay it the wrong way round and the iron sticks — a look in raking light settles it before the iron arrives.

Does it survive washing?

Yes, at household temperatures. The fabric underneath sets the limit. On clothing washed often and hot, a wash test on a scrap pays off beforehand.

Where do bubbles under the surface come from?

Usually from sliding the iron instead of setting it down. Work from the middle outwards and let the iron rest briefly, then the air escapes to the edges.
