About this range

Viscose shines more softly and warmly than polyester, almost like silk. That is why rayon is the thread many choose for elegant monograms, flowers and fine decorative stitches. It does not lint, does not shrink and is colourfast and boil-proof – embroidered towels and children's clothes can be washed normally.

Because viscose stretches less than polyester, the thread runs smoothly in the embroidery machine and the stitches lie evenly. Weight 40 suits the usual embroidery programmes and the decorative stitches of most sewing machines.

The range covers solid colours, ombré threads that shift from light to dark within one colour, and multicolour threads with several colours on one strand. The colour number lets you find the same shade again later.

Frequently asked questions

Viscose or polyester – which embroidery thread should I use?

Viscose shines more warmly and softly and stretches less, so it runs more calmly in the machine. Polyester is even more hard-wearing and tolerates bleach – the better choice for workwear.

What is the difference between ombré and multicolour?

Ombré shifts between light and dark shades within one colour and creates shading. Multicolour puts several different colours on one strand, for cheerful colour changes without swapping thread.

Which needle suits Rayon 40?

A universal, top-stitch or embroidery needle in a fine to medium size. Top tension may be slightly looser for embroidery than for sewing.
