Description

Natural white here is a warm, slightly creamy white. On the broad ribs the shade looks lively, because each rib catches light a little differently.

Marian is a cotton corduroy with even ribs and a soft, velvety pile. Its 3 % elastane is deliberately modest: this fabric gives a little when you sit or bend, yet remains a stable woven. At 330 g/m² this cord has enough body for trousers and jackets. On 140 cm of width, long trouser legs lie comfortably side by side.

Tip: iron over a needle board or a terry towel so the pile stays upright.

Cord hat eine Strichrichtung. Alle Teile gleich herum zuschneiden, sonst wirken sie unterschiedlich hell.
Rippen längs zum Fadenlauf legen und an Seitennähten auf gleicher Höhe ausrichten.
Jeans- oder Universalnadel 90, Stichlänge 3, am besten mit Obertransportfuß.
Schnitte für Webware verwenden; die leichte Elastizität ersetzt keine Jerseyschnitte.
Nur von links und mit wenig Hitze bügeln, ein Frotteetuch darunter schützt den Flor.
Bei 30 Grad im Schonwaschgang auf links waschen, nicht bleichen, nicht in den Trockner.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cut corduroy correctly?

Lay every pattern piece in the same pile direction, ideally with the nap running down. Otherwise pieces will look lighter or darker later. Allow a little more fabric than for a smooth weave.

How stretchy is Marian?

Only a little. Its 3 % elastane lets this fabric give slightly when you sit. It remains a woven, though, so patterns made for jersey or highly stretchy fabrics will not fit.

How do I iron corduroy without flattening the pile?

Iron from the reverse with little pressure, ideally on a terry towel or needle board. Work only on a low setting; steam from above helps lift pressed areas again.

How do I care for Marian?

Wash inside out on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees, do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Pull it straight and dry flat, and the pile stays nice and even.
