Description

Fox, deer, squirrel and hare romp on natural white among bright green deciduous trees, firs and little plants. Colours feel fresh and autumnal at once.

This French terry is smooth outside and knitted with fine loops inside, not brushed. That keeps it airy enough year-round while still noticeably warm on cooler occasions. At 250 g/m² with 5 % elastane it has body and springs back after stretching – cuffs and hoods keep their shape. On 145 cm of width, children’s sizes often fit twice side by side.

The motifs are deliberately not too large, so they work on small pattern pieces too.

What French Terry Lenny Trees and Forest Animals on Natural White by Swafing is suitable for

  • Children’s jumpers, hoodies and sweat jackets.
  • Harem pants and joggers, because the loopback knit is soft and stretchy.
  • Dresses and sets for babies and toddlers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sew French terry?

Ideally with an overlocker or an elastic machine stitch and a jersey needle. That keeps seams stretchy. Hems and cuffs can be topstitched nicely with a twin needle or coverstitch.

How do I care for this fabric?

Wash at 30 degrees, turned inside out, so the print stays fresh for a long time. Do not bleach or tumble dry; dry it flat. Iron at most on a low setting from the reverse.

Is it brushed inside?

No, this is classic summer sweat: small loops inside instead of fluff. That makes it airier than brushed sweat, so it suits transitional weather and mild winters as well as cool summer evenings.

Which cuffs go with it?

Plain cuffing in a shade taken from the motif, such as natural, rust or moss green. Cut cuffs roughly ten per cent shorter than the opening so they sit snugly.
