Description
Classic leopard print with brown rosettes and dark outlines on a warm apricot ground. Wild, yet pleasantly gentle thanks to its colours.
This canvas is woven from 100 % cotton in plain weave and at 230 g/m² has just the right weight for bags and decor: firm enough to hold a shape yet still easy to sew on a home machine. The leopard pattern is graphic and bold, with large, irregularly placed spots. On 145 cm of width, large cushions and shoppers cut in one piece.
Plain canvas in brown or cream makes an easy, calm counterpart.
What Canvas Doha Leopard in Apricot/Brown by Swafing is suitable for
- Bags, shoppers and backpacks.
- Cushions, storage baskets and organisers.
- Aprons and accessories with an animal print.
Care instructions:
Frequently asked questions
Which needle and stitch work best?
A jeans needle in a medium size and a straight stitch with a slightly longer stitch length. Sew slowly at corners with several layers. A walking foot helps over thick seam junctions.
Does canvas shrink?
Cotton can shrink a little in its first wash. So for cushions and clothing, wash the fabric at 30 degrees before cutting. For bags that will never be washed you can skip it.
Does a bag need interfacing?
Not for soft totes. For shoppers or structured backpacks, a fusible or fleece interfacing adds extra body. Finish raw edges, because woven cotton frays at cut edges.
How do I care for this canvas?
Wash at 30 degrees, do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Iron from the reverse while still slightly damp, and its surface becomes smooth again.
