Canvas comes densely, heavily woven — that fabric which lets a bag stand by itself. Its handle stays firm, nearly stiff.
This one measures 150 cm across, weighing 220 g/m²; its composition reads 60 % cotton plus 40 % polyester. Wash it once before cutting, so its length stays stable afterwards.
Multicolour on white pairs readily alongside plain shades; anyone wanting contrast sets it beside something stronger. Sold by metre, so you cut whatever your project takes — leftovers still serve bags, appliqué plus small pouches.
What Canvas bedruckt Shoppingmeile is suitable for
- Bags plus backpacks, because canvas holds shape without interfacing.
- Cushions or fabric baskets around a home.
- Aprons plus workwear, since this fabric survives handling.
Frequently asked questions
Should I pre-wash?
Yes. Cotton draws up during its first wash, by several percent depending on quality. Meeting that after sewing leaves a garment that no longer fits; beforehand it costs only fabric.
How do I stop edges fraying?
By finishing them: overlocker, zigzag, or pinking shears. Woven cotton frays along its threads, and whatever starts at a seam allowance travels closer to that seam with every wash.
Which needle suits it?
A medium universal needle serves most cottons. Densely woven qualities deserve going one size up, otherwise small puncture marks stay visible while your seam draws together.
How much fabric will I need?
That follows your pattern rather than your fabric. Roughly: a shirt wants about your own body length, a dress twice that. Directional prints deserve a more generous allowance.
